Abhyanga
Abhyanga is to Ayurveda as ghee is to milk. So much more than a typical massage, it highlights the essence of nourishing your body the Ayurvedic way. I like to describe Abhyanga as a “ritual oiling” and I often tell clients that they’ll leave feeling swaddled like a baby. And it’s true. The rhythmic steady strokes; the gentle, methodical application of warm oil; the balance of flow with depth + stillness… it all culminates in an experience that feels beautifully nourishing, complete and unlike any other massage you’ve experienced.
Sessions are 60, 75, 90 or 120 minutes.

Vishesh
Where Abhyanga leads you to stillness through gentle rhythm + softness, Vishesh leads you to that same end through briskness + friction. Vishesh, also a technique of “ritual oiling,” helps to invigorate the body by promoting enhanced circulation, loosening density + stiffness in the muscles and expelling stagnancy from wherever it lies in your body. This detoxifying + enlivening treatment pairs beautifully with the Garshana gentle lymphatic dry-brush add-on and Kapha-Balancing Body Oil.
Sessions are 60, 75, 90 or 120 minute sessions.

Marma
Marma, or Ayurvedic acupressure, is at the heart of all Ayurvedic treatments. These marma points reflect areas of convergence between a multitude of major and subtle body channels. These active points of the body are responsive to gentle touch, pressure and vibration, and those subtle connections are highlighted as the marma points are held and grounded through a slow, methodical sequence. Marma therapy works well during times of acute stress + tension, or in any circumstances where you’d prefer your body and limbs to stay more covered.
You can expect this treatment to feel less oily than your typical Ayurvedic massage.
Sessions are 75 or 90 minutes.

Nasya
Here in the Northeast, our nasal pathways and sinuses can get uncomfortable and out of balance for so many reasons - allergies, excessive dryness, viral or bacterial infections causing congestion, the list goes on.
Enter the Nasya treatment! We loosen the sinus + nasal cavities with a thorough massage and steam of the face and head. If applicable, congestive blockages are addressed by adding drops of warmed ginger solution to the nostrils, and soothing Nasya Oil is added to the nasal pathways, resulting in clear, even breathing and alleviation of tension + irritation in these spaces. The remainder of the session is devoted to warm oil Abhyanga massage, allowing your body + mind to relax fully as you enjoy deep, clarifying breaths.
Sessions are 60 or 90 minutes.

Swedana
This is the best treatment that you never knew you needed. Tight muscles and stiff joints? Gone. Sluggishness and brain fog? Not today. Dry skin? That’s old news.
Our Swedana treatment, reflective of the traditional way of receiving Ayurvedic massage, involves a warm oil massage followed by an immersion in a steam tent. According to Ayurvedic principles, the oil massage starts the process of softening and opening the major + subtle channels of the body and relaxing the nervous system. The warm steam enhances both of these actions, moving oil deeper into the tissues, with the intention of dislodging more deep-seated impurities.
After your treatment, it’s recommended to drink plenty of water and/or electrolytes and to maintain a lighter schedule.
Sessions are 45, 75 or 90 minutes, or add a 30 minute Swedana to any of your Ayurvedic treatments (request via email only.)

Shirodhara
You’ll often hear of this treatment called the “King of Ayurvedic treatments,” and that’s an apt title. You’d be hard-pressed not to feel like royalty, as warm oil is rhythmically streamed over the 3rd eye and crown of your head, promoting deep relaxation throughout your entire nervous system, from your scalp all the way down to your toes.
But the benefits go even deeper than simply relaxation. Shirodhara has the remarkable ability to foster deep physiological rest and mental + emotional harmony, especially when experienced in series over the course of several weeks or months. It’s a treatment that I hope everyone has the opportunity to try at least once in their lifetime!
After your treatment it’s highly recommended that you rest, avoid strenuous mental or physical activity, and avoid over-stimulation of your senses.
Sessions are 60, 90 or 120 minutes.

4-Handed Abhyanga
A synchronized massage, is the most appropriate way of describing this transformative, nourishing bodywork treatment. During this sacred session, which reflects the traditional way of receiving Abhyanga, two therapists work in-tandem to impart a powerful, deep-seated sense of calm and ease. Flowing, synchronized strokes allow deeper layers of your consciousness to emerge, making possible the opportunity for profound physical, mental and emotional release. What results is true holistic alignment - centered in spirit, present in the moment, a relaxed state of mind, and supple, nourished tissues. We highly recommend scheduling this session on a day where you can really lay low and stay quiet.
Sessions are 75 or 90 minutes; the 90 minute session includes Garshana.

+ What to expect from the process
at your initial visit, space and time are allotted for you to fill out your comprehensive health history form over a cup of tea, after which we will sit down together and discuss your habits, routines, goals for health and Ayurvedic insights that apply to your unique life.
in subsequent visits, we dive deeper into your needs for physical, mental + spiritual growth, helping to form a more complete, nuanced picture of your unique constitution and health requirements. An Ancient Lifestyle
An Ayurvedic lifestyle exemplifies a pursuit of balance, of seeking deep alignment with one's needs for health and happiness. An Ayurvedic lifestyle does not mean eating, acting, exercising, meditating or living perfectly -- it means deepening our self-awareness so that healthful, soul-fueling decisions become second nature.
