What is Ayurveda?
THE SCIENCE OF LIFE
Ayurveda was developed in India five millenia ago, sprung from the deep meditative states of the ancient sages. Ayurveda is translated as "the knowledge of self," or "the wisdom of life," meaning that through the lens of this living science, we come to a deeper understanding of our bodies, thoughts, habits, cycles, and unique energetic make-up.
Ayurveda is not a diet plan, a workout regimen, nor a rigid set of rules. It is a "living style," a timeless guide to our most basic, alchemical truths - who we are and why we function the way we do. This body of knowledge is based on the understanding that the mind and the physical body are inextricable from one another and from nature. That which we digest and surround ourselves with - food, water, breath, sensory info - becomes us. When we embrace this truth, we awaken our innate sense of how to heal and restore balance within our bodies, minds, and spirits.

While we are each born with a unique doshic constitution that represents our baseline of balance and health, it's important to note that all three are alive within us and essential to our well-being.
